Foreword: From February 6th to 8th 2015 Beijing Time, Huawei Device sponsored some lucky fans to go an unforgettable trip to La Liga, Spain to watch the highly anticipated Spanish Madrid Derby. In early morning of February 6th, the fan team took off from Beijing to and arrived in Madrid, prepped to watch Atletico Madrid take on Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid, who had the home field advantage, defeated Real Madrid with the score of 4:0. The fan team witnessed all the action and excitement up close and personal. The trip also included visits to Madrid's most scenic locations: Palacio Real de Madrid, Puerta del Sol and Puyol square. The trip also gave them the opportunity to visit Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium and Huawei's Spanish field office.
At the end of last year, Huawei began plans to do something special for its fans in 2015. To help them see the world and experience different global cultures, to revive their passion and to fulfill their childhood dreams of discovery and exploration. So after the meet-and-greet during the Paris fashion week in January, Huawei's second leg of the Huawei Fans' global tour began with Madrid. The fan team stayed in the football capital of Madrid in the beautiful Iberian Peninsula for three days and two nights. On top of the two global tours done so far, Huawei has even more planned to give its fans and consumers more opportunities to see top European leagues, athletic stars, and new cultures.
Chase your dream, and make it possible.
October 2014, Huawei appeared on Interbrand's Top 100 Best Global Brands, becoming the first Mainland Chinese brand to appear on the list. As the Huawei brand become increasingly global, Huawei Device is committed to making global consumers feel the spirit of the brand; chasing your dream with no fear, and making it possible.
In recent years, Huawei has gradually increased marketing efforts in sports and athletics. In Europe, Huawei has partnered with top teams such as Club Atletico de Madrid, Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga, AC Milan in Serie A, Ajax Amsterdam in Holland Casino Eredivisie. Atletico was one of the first clubs Huawei has partnered with, and their team spirit is a good representation of Huawei's own spirit of dedication. Through our partnership with Atletico, Huawei wants its consumers to feel the "red" passion. Last year, Huawei also became sponsorship partner with the world's top football league, La Liga. From Real Madrid, the Basa Luo duo, to the Three Kingdoms era with Atletico Madrid, the Spanish La Liga has a huge fan base with its fiercely played matches, shocking plays, and display of hugely popular international star players. With all eyes on La Liga, Huawei Device has an opportunity to gives its brand even global exposure.
If consumers are the basis of a company , then Huawei fans are the source of Huawei Device's energy. They are the best spokespeople for the Huawei brand, and that's why they are also the most important people to Huawei. Huawei's brand is strengthened by helping them achieve their dreams. As many fans also follow football closely, Huawei wants to help them chase their passion. That's why Huawei partnered with Li Liga to give Huawei fans a chance to see the Madrid Derby in person, to encourage them to better understand football, understand Spain, and understand Huawei's spirit of "make it possible."
Good company all the way, go to win.
This fan team was led by Shang Yi, former Chinese football player who was the first Chinese to play in the Spanish football league, and made up of carefully selected Huawei fans all over the country. Before the trip, Huawei opened up recruitment through many different channels, including mini football games on Wechat, photography competitions on the Huawei fan club forum, and other quiz game activities, attracting nearly 10 million participants. Ultimately, 9 lucky fans were selected among multiple activities, and became members of Huawei LFP world tour.
During the trip to Madrid, the fan team watched and cheered for the win of Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon Stadium on Feb 7 Beijing Time. It was the penultimate moment of triumph for them as they wrapped up a fun and enjoyable trip to Spain.
Revisiting Spain as the trip leader this time, Shang Yi said: "It's different from playing in Spain, watching football matches with Huawei & LFP fans is a completely different experience." He also expressed his admiration for Huawei's fan outreach trip.
Mr. Shao Yang, Vice President of Huawei Consumer BG's Marketing Communication Department once said: "Huawei's football sponsorship is based on the large following and excitement the sport generates. The way the game is played and fought is also reflective of Huawei's pursuit for excellence, fearlessness in the face of challenge, and realization of long-held dreams. All embodied in Huawei's motto of Make it Possible. Huawei is committed to establishing and organizing more football partnerships and activities. Huawei believes its fans are the most important source of its success, and we hope to show our fans more of the world, more of who they can be, and share in their success. Make it possible."
