Madrid, Oct 14, 2014. - Huawei has presented today in Shenzhen, where its headquarters are located, the sponsorship agreement signed with Club Atlético de Madrid, for which the company becomes global partner of Atletico. The announcement was made during a press conference in which Miguel Angel Gil, CEO of Club Atlético de Madrid, and Shaoyang, CMO of Huawei, have provided all the details of this new alliance.
The visit of Club's management team to Huawei’s headquarters in China reflects its intention to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and the excellent existing relationship between the two entities, which began two years ago with the signing of an agreement by which the company became the official Club’s sponsor during the Super Cup.
In the words of Shaoyang, CMO of Huawei, "We are proud to announce this agreement in our country. The success that the company has achieved in recent years, including the position of third largest manufacturer of smartphones, can be understood only through effort, dedication, persistence and teamwork. These are the values that we share with Atletico Madrid and those that move both entities to continue growing and striving to be the best".
The relationship between Atletico Madrid and Huawei has grown over time and has consolidated itself, so that we reached this important agreement that makes us two strategic partners. Huawei has been able to understand and appreciate the dimension reached by football and the values that it transmits trough BRANDS like Atletico Madrid, a global leading club. Through this relationship, Huawei will also get linked to the two more interesting and ambitious Projects of the current European scene in terms of Technological Innovation: the New Stadium and the New Sports Complex. There are many fields we can work together in to achieve new goals and new challenges. Football and technology, together, can offer our fans unique and unimaginable emotions and experiences to enjoy this wonderful sport as football is. ", Miguel Angel Gil has said.
Under this agreement by which Huawei and Atletico Madrid will collaborate for at least two seasons, official club shirts and equipment used by players during training sessions feature a brand logo. Also, Huawei has LED advertising presence at the Vicente Calderón Stadium, as well as displays in different areas of the Club.
Furthermore, many communication and promotional activities are expected to be brought together. The first of these took place last week in Madrid, when all members of the Club were able to discover and enjoy the brand devices including tablets, smartphones and exclusive accessories such as the Talkband B1 bracelet. Additionally, each player could choose between a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and a Huawei Ascend P7, the new 4G LTE Huawei smartphones that have revolutionized the market with its attractive design and its latest generation performance.
Huawei’s desire is to continue expanding its target audience reaching consumers, enterprises and telecom operators through its wide range of mobile devices, solutions and services. Currently, Huawei Device sells innovative devices to millions of users and not only is among the top three world smartphone manufacturers, but it’s also leader in devices for home and wireless broadband worldwide.
